About

Trendy Tomodachi seeks to track and understand the latest Japanese trends.  We are bounty hunters of the fad variety.  In short, we’re stuck here, but want to know what’s big in Japan. Occasionally, we delve into deeper topics.

We are Ms. Gaijin, a Bolivian-Egyptian rapper with a penchant for all things Japanese, and Hikaru (ひかる, ヒカル), a hapa sake bottler from LA.  Occasionally our editor, Ron Lincecum, also contributes.

Ms. Gaijin has ADHD and pines for the land of trends. Her favorite foods are Pocky and sushi.

Hikaru  sheds light on the next big thing while cooking up some mean tempura.  She has connections on the island.

Ron Linceum is not related to Tim Lincecum, but he is an ardent baseball fan.  In Japan, his team is the Hanshin Tigers.  Stateside, he cheers for the Mets.  His day job involves industrial engineering.
